"Biblical Stewardship is Managing God's Blessing, God's Way, for God's Glory"
- Pastor Chris Brown
What is Stewardship?
Stewardship is living out a commitment to be Christ-centered rather than self-centered.
The U.S. Bishops define a Christian Steward as:
“One who receives God’s gifts gratefully,
Tends them responsibly,,
Shares them justly, and
Returns them with increase to the Lord.”
Annual Stewardship Appeals:
Here at JPII we divide our stewardship appeals into three distinct sessions. We have a theme that runs throughout the entire year. At the beginning of the liturgical year (each advent) we promote the proper strewardship of our time. In the Spring we focus in on the proper stewadship of our financial resources. Finally, every Fall we ask we can serve one another. We call this the proper stewardship of our talents. The theme for this year's stewardship appeal is Because We Believe: Because we Believe...We Pray; Because We Believe...We Give; and Because We Believe...We Serve.
The vision statement for St. John Paul II Parishioners is:
1. People who have a personal relationship with Jesus and feel comfortable sharing their faith with others.
2. People who are open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit in their lives
3. People who have a knowledge and love of the scriptures.
4. People who know basic Catholic teaching.
5. People who are committed to daily prayer and pray spontaneously when asked to do so.
6. People who are commited to Sunday Eucharist
7. People who see his/her life as given to God's work.
